Course Description:
Every child deserves to feel welcomed, valued, and included in their learning environment. In Creating a Belonging Place, participants will explore what it means to create truly inclusive early childhood environments where all children, including children with special needs, have opportunities to participate, connect, and thrive. Educators will examine key factors that contribute to a sense of belonging, reflect on current classroom practices and environments, and identify opportunities to strengthen inclusion. The session also explores practical strategies for partnering with families and supporting their meaningful involvement in their child’s learning and development. Participants will leave with actionable ideas for creating welcoming, responsive environments that recognize and support the individual needs of every child.

Learning Objectives:

• Identify key factors that contribute to inclusive early childhood environments where every child experiences a sense of belonging.
• Examine classroom practices and environments to identify opportunities for increasing participation, accessibility, and inclusion for children with diverse needs.
• Apply practical strategies to strengthen inclusive practices and partner with families in supporting their child’s learning and development.

Certificate Information:
Participants will receive 1.5 hours of professional development and a certificate of completion upon attending the live session.
